SRS surgery in Thailand is a term for the surgical procedures by which a person's physical appearance and function of their existing sexual characteristics are altered to resemble that of the other sex. In a male to female SRS surgery (also known as Trans women) there is a genital reconstruction of the vagina and may include facial feminization surgery and breast augmentation.
For a female to a male SRS surgery (also known as Trans men) there is a genital construction of a penis or metoidioplasty. This can also involve Mastectomy or the removal of the breastand breast reconstruction to make it into male-contoured chest and hysterectomy. For a person suffering from gender identity disorder, SRS treatments and other medical procedures can significantly reduce the feelings of discomfort caused by one’s birth sex and social rearing in that sex.
AN EFFECTIVE AND COMPLETE PROCEDURE
Genital surgical sex reassignment and non-genital surgical sex reassignment are the two types of SRS surgeries that allow a person to change its gender.

Genital surgical sex reassignment: consists of the surgery of the genitals which is done in order to alter the morphology to assimilate the physical appearance of the other sex.

Non-genital surgical sex reassignment: involves the procedures that do not have to do with the genitalia. Instead, they are related to the fact of effecting a more masculine or feminine appearance.
The procedure typically works by reconstructing the genitals of the individual into the genitals of the opposite sex. Procedures are done on other parts of the body to change the look of the individual.
AFTER THE SRS SURGERY IN THAILAND
Persons who have undergone male to female SRS will still retain a prostate while those who had female to male body procedure will need to undergo hysterectomy to remove the uterus and ophorectomy to remove the ovaries. Patients who have undergone male to female conversions will also need to take male hormone to stimulate male features to develop.
