Sex change surgery in Thailand, or more appropriately known as gender reassignment surgery (GRS) and sex reassignment surgery (SRS) is the final stage in the physical transitioning of a transgendered male-to-female. Sex change surgery in Thailand usually refers to medical procedure of the genital surgery to change gender roles such as from male to female sex or female to male gender. The sex change procedure may be classed into two types, namely, genital and non-genital. Non-genital surgery includes plastic reconstruction of the nose, chin surgery, revision of thyroid cartilage, breast surgery, and revision of the buttocks. For the sex change operation, there are different types of surgical procedures. These can be broadly divided into those procedures for Male-to-female (MTF) transsexuals and those procedures for Female-to-male (FTM) transsexuals.
