Gender reassignment surgery is a surgical procedure that entails the removal of the external genitalia, followed by the reconstruction of female genital organs. The new urethral opening (meatus) is fashioned and labiaplasty is performed using the anterior scrotal skin. Clitoroplasty can be either cosmetic or functioning using a sensate glans flap. Male to Female Gender reassignment surgery once performed is totally irreversible. For Female to Male Gender reassignment surgery is more complex and complicated procedure than Male to Femal. The surgery mostly  includes excision of breast, internal sex organs & Vagina, reconstruction of neo penis using micro-surgical technique and placement of penile implants for penile erection.

THE COMPLICATIONS

All surgery runs the risk of infection, bleeding, and a need to return for repairs. This process is irreversible, so the patient must have no doubts about accepting the results. The most common complication of male-to-female Gender reassignment surgery is the strong tendency for the vagina to shrink and eventually obliterate itself. Surgery to correct the situation is more difficult and extensive than the initial procedure. It involves making incisions in the inverted penile skin and inserting full thickness skin grafts.
