Cosmetic Surgery Now Takes One Day to Recover
Many surgical works are now so advanced that patients can go home in just one day

Surgical procedures such as breast augmentation and buttock enlargement require many days for recovery. However, nowadays it is possible to resume normal routine 24 hours after the procedure. Some surgeons have come up with special techniques which can help minimize tissue trauma as well as the length of the recuperation period — a major advantage for patients who undergo this cosmetic surgery.
In one-day breast augmentation procedure, there is no need for straps, special bras, tapes or bandages. Some doctors even claim that their patients can go out to dinner the night of the procedure, and back to normal activities within 24 hours after surgery. For buttock enlargement, it is also now possible for patients to leave the hospital, stand and walk on the day of the surgery or one day after.
A Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. William P. Adams said that over 95% of his breast augmentation patients can return to the regular tasks of daily living within the one day timeframe. Patients are actually encouraged to use their hands and arms normally, including showering and styling their hair and raising their arms over their head on the same day as the procedure.
“One day surgery” does not mean that every sign of the procedure will be gone in 24 hours. It means that patients can leave the outpatient center within 24 hours of surgery and continue the healing process in their own home.
